Drugs case: “NCB will soon issue summons to actress Deepika Padukone”

In a case involving drugs related to the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) will summon Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone. The NCB is expected to call the actress after recapturing chats between Karishma, an employee of talent management company KWAN, who indicates drug use.

Earlier in a major investigation into the drugs case, sources have confirmed that the name ā€˜Dā€™ has surfaced in the drugs chat which is Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone. It is being said that the actress asked for a hash in a chat with “K”. The names K and D in the WhatsApp drugs chat are made up of two names. Along with Deepika Padukone, another B-town actress Namrata Shirodkar has also been allegedly linked to the case.

A top Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) official related to the investigation said, “We have summoned Prakash, who works as a manager in Kavan and its CEO Dhruv”.

The officer said he has been summoned because some WhatsApp chats show that he was allegedly involved in a drug case. NCB officials said the development comes a day after they will issue summons to Bollywood actors Sara Ali Khan, Shraddha Kapoor, Rakul Preet Singh and fashion designer Simone Karmabhata in connection with the inquiry this week. Apart from Prakash and Dhruv, NCB has also called Sushant’s former manager Shruti Modi and talent manager Jaya Saha for further questioning.

NCB officials questioned the duo for five hours on Monday. The NCB has already arrested Sushant’s girlfriend Riya Chakraborty, his brother Shovik, Sushant’s house manager Samuel Miranda, personal employee Dipesh Sawant and 15 others in the case.

Meanwhile, Riya and others were sent to judicial custody till 6 October. The NCB has registered a case at the request of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) after alleged drug chats of Shovik, Miranda, and several others.
