Amitabh Bachchan and Ayeshaman Khurana’s much-awaited film ‘Gulabo Sitabo’ has been released on Amazon Prime Video. The film ‘Gulabo Sitabo’ is getting a very good response from the audience, which the producers are also very happy to see. ‘Gulabo Sitabo’ is the first Bollywood film to miss its theatrical release and turn to OTT.
Amitabh Bachchan and Ayushmann Khurrana’s jugalbandi is being praised a lot in ‘Gulabo Sitabo’, but very few people know where and how the two were formed?
Director Shoojit Sarkar, while speaking exclusively to Zoom TV, has revealed that he had offered this film to Ayushmann Khurrana at the reception of Deepveer. According to Shoojit Sarkar, ”Yes, Ayushman Khurana was my first choice for Gulabo Sitabo but it has been discussed a lot. His casting however was quite late. First we signed Amitabh Bachchan and after that we talked to Ayushmann Khurrana. As far as I remember, I had offered the film to Ayushmann Khurrana at the reception of Deepika Padukone. There I told the story of the film to Ayushmann and he immediately said yes. He was very excited for the film.”
Ayushmann Khurrana made his Bollywood debut with director Shoojit Sarkar’s film ‘Vicky Donor’. The film was a super hit at the box office and Ayushmann Khurrana never looked back after that. After ‘Vicky Donor’ Ayushman Khurana walked up the stairs of success. The ups and downs in the career of an actor have also been seen by Ayushmann Khurrana but today he is one of the most brilliant actors of the new generation of Bollywood.
In an Instagram post on Friday, Ayushmann wrote: “Iss vishamyakari anubhav ke liye main Shoojit da ka dhannyavad karna chahunga ke unhone mujhe Amitabh Bachchan jaise mahanayak ke saath ek frame mein dikhaya. Dada, aap mere guru hain. Aapka haath tham kar yahan tak pahucha hun. (I would like to thank Shoojit da for this amazing experience, that he thought I was worthy of sharing the frame with a megastar like Amitabh Bachchan. Dada, you are my mentor, I have reached till here with your guidance. ” However, Gulabo Sitabo is Ayushmann’s first film with Amitabh Bachchan.
Set in Lucknow, the film has Big B playing Mirza, the owner of a dilapidated haveli who is at perpetual loggerheads with his tenant Bankey, played by Ayushmann.
Ayushmann said that Amitbah helped him improvise his lines. “That was such an eye opener for me. I remember when I was marking my own lines in the script and he was like why are you marking your own lines you should mark my lines also. That goes to show he believes in the totality of the process, he’s not a selfish actor, he is a collaborator,” he told IANS.
