Union Home Minister, Amit Shah to hold a meeting with all Delhi Parties on 15th of June , 2020 , to discuss about prevailing COVID-19 situation in Delhi .
Congress , Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Delhi unit of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) and ruling party Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are expected to be a part of the meeting , which is to be headed by the Union Home Minister.
A notice has been issued by the Home Ministry, which said ” Honourable Union Home Minister will hold an All-Party meeting to review the management of COVID-19 situation in the National Capital Territory of Delhi at 1100 hours on 15th June , 2020 (Monday) , in room no. 119 , North Block , New Delhi. Addressees are requested to kindly make it convenient to attend the meeting.”
On 14th of June , 2020 , a meeting was held between, Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal and Amit Shah. The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish sisodia , LG Anil Baijal and Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan . It was a 1.5 hour long meeting.
Several points were concluded in the meeting , new set of measures are to be taken to put a halt on the increasing cases in Delhi.
Few of the main highlights from the meetings were :
• COVID-19 tests will be conducted at every Polling Station in Containment Zones.
• 500 railway coaches to be converted into isolation wards which will serve as 8000 beds .
• In Containment Zones , contact tracing shall be done from house to house , by testing out each person .
• Coronavirus tests to be doubled in two days and then tripled in number in the next six days .
• New guidelines shall be announced for cremation ceremony.
Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal made a tweet after attending the meeting of 14th June , 2020 and labeled it as “productive”.
This is going be the third meeting between Arvind Kejriwal and Amit Shah, since the spread of novel Coronavirus.
These meetings have been called just after Delhi Government was called out by the Supreme Court of India , on “horrendous” treatment of COVID-19 bodies and even stated that the bodies are being treated worse than that of “animals”.
Delhi has a total of 38,958 Coronavirus cases and has already witnessed 1214 deaths , as per the records.
Delhi is just behind Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra in the list of the states worst hit by the virus.
