J&K: Security forces succeeds, 3 terrorists shot dead in Srinagar

In Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian Army and the Kashmir Police have been successful fighting against terrorism. In the joint operation, the security forces killed three terrorists in Srinagar.

Encounter was going on between the army and militants since morning. Security forces killed a terrorist in Shopian early in the morning. Jammu and Kashmir Police told the press conference that all three terrorists have been killed in the valley. Police said that the terrorists were hiding in Srinagar since late night. The security forces conducted a search operation to catch them.

Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Region Sanjay Kumar said that three terrorists were killed in an encounter in Pozwalpora area of ​​Junimar in Srinagar district. Weapons and ammunition have been recovered from all three. The slain terrorists were involved in the murder of the recently killed BSF soldiers.

Sanjay Kumar said, “Three unidentified terrorists have been killed in the encounter, while search is still going on at the scene of the incident. Weapons and ammunition have also been recovered. Earlier we had tried to convince the terrorists to surrender, we also brought their parents to the encounter site but they declined the offer.”

The IG said that the slain terrorists were recently involved in the killing of two BSF personnel at Pandach, on the outskirts of Srinagar, who had escaped at the time.

Earlier this morning, a joint team of police and CRPF started the cordon and search operation after input about the presence of terrorists in the area. Mobile internet services were also discontinued in the district, but are still suspended.

A top police officer said, ”This is the second encounter in Srinagar, in the last encounter Hizb Commander Junaid Sahrai and three terrorists were killed. And now within a month, 3 more terrorists were killed.”

Meanwhile, mobile Internet services in Srinagar have been closed as a precaution.
