Covid-19 cases takes toll on major states, Maharashtra accounts for one-third of total deaths and cases

Three weeks after the lockdown opened in India, the corona crisis continued to escalate. In the last 24 hours in the country, the highest 15,968 cases of corona were reported so far, while 465 people died.

With this, the number of infected in the country has increased to 4,56,183. However, the number of active cases is just over 1 lakh 83 thousand.

The death toll from Corona in India has now risen to 14,476. Andhra Pradesh has become the 10th state of India, where the number of corona infected is beyond 10,000. However, where there are more than 5400 active cases in the state, 4779 people have recovered. That is, the state’s recovery rate is much below the national average of 56 percent.

Talking about the most affected states in the country, the situation in Maharashtra is quite bad. Now the number of victims has reached 1 lakh 39 thousand. At the same time, the number of deaths has now risen to 6531 with 248 new deaths in 24 hours. Maharashtra accounts for more than one-third of the country’s total deaths and infections.

Delhi is number two in the infected states, where about 4,000 new cases have been found in a day. With this, the number of victims in the state has now reached 66,602. 

Tamil Nadu has 64,603 confirmed cases till date, following 35,339 recoveries.

However, if the deaths in Tamil Nadu and other states are compared, the situation in Tamil Nadu is much better. Tamil Nadu has reported 833 deaths, compared to 1,711 deaths in Gujarat and 2,301 in Delhi.

At the moment, there is comforting news for India that so far about 56.38 per cent of the total patients i.e. about 2,58,574 people have recovered and returned home. 

In the last 24 hours about 10 thousand patients have been discharged. The number of active cases in the country is 1 lakh 83 thousand.
