Before Ramdev’s Coronil was launched , its research and clinical trials were conducted by NIMS Jaipur.
“We had all required permissions for conducting the trial on patients . Prior permission for testing was taken from Clinical Trials Registry (CTI) , which is a body for Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) , I have papers to show permission” , said Dr BS Tomar , Chairman and Chancellor at NIMS. He further says ” The question of whether Coronil should have been propagated as immunity booster or cure should be asked from Patanjali. We had informed the Health Department of Government of Rajasthan on June 2. We have received a letter from the Government seeking an explanation, we will respond to that “.
Dr BS Tomar said , ” Trials were conducted on 100 patients at NIMS, Jaipur. As per the results , 69 % were cured in 3 days and 100% were cured in 7 days” .
The Ayush Ministry has asked Patanjali not to advertise Coronil as a drug for the cure of Coronavirus until final conclusion is drawn on the matter.
“We will issue them a notice asking how they got permission to make the kit for COVID-19” , said the Licensing Officer from Uttarakhand Government’s Department for Ayurved , who had issued the license to Patanjali for developing Coronil.
Meanwhile , Shripad Naik , Minister of State for Ayush Ministry , ensured that Patanjali has submitted all documents for the research , to the concerned officials . Till then the Production of Coronil has been obstructed as well .
