India records highest single day spike with 17k plus COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours.

In the last 24 hours , 17296 new COVID-19 cases have been recorded in India. Its the new highest single day spike in COVID-19 cases. With this India crosses the 4.90 lakh mark .New 407 deaths were recorded in the last 24 hours as well.

Maharashtra is the worst hit state in India , with 1.47 lakh COVID-19 cases and 7000 deaths . Meanwhile Delhi is on the second number in the list of worst hit state/Union Territory, it has already recorded 73000 confirmed cases and 2400 deaths , till now. Whereas Tamil Nadu ranks third in the same list , with nearly 71000 cases , followed by Gujarat at the fourth spot , with 30000 cases.The recovery rate in India stands at 58.24 percent.

As per the data submitted by Ministry of Health , there are 490401 confirmed cases , out of which 189643 are active cases , 285637 have already recovered and 15301 lives have been lost till now.

9716060 Coronavirus cases have been recorded world wide with 491887 deaths.
India is on the 4th position in the list of countries worst hit by the novel Coronavirus. Its just behind Russia , Brazil and the US now in the list.
