Uttar Pradesh Minister, Kamal Rani Varun died due to the infection of the novel Coronavirus today at the age of 62.
Initially, the minister had tested COVID positive and was on ventilator from the last few days. She was admitted to the hospital from 18th July.
She expired today at 9:30 in the morning, while she was admitted to Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences.
Kamal Rani Varun served as the Minister of Technical Education in the Yogi government.
“I expressed my deepest condolences to the family of Cabinet Minister Kamal Rani Varun. She was COVID-19 positive was receiving treatment at SGPGI Hospital. She was a popular public leader and social worker. She worked efficiently while being part of the cabinet”, said Yogi Adityanath in his condolence message for her.
Following this the UP CM has cancelled, his visit to Ayodhya which was meant to oversee the preparations for the iconic ceremony of building Ram Temple there.
“Cabinet Minister Kamal Rani was admitted to the SGPI after testing positive for COVID-19 on July 18. She also had co-morbidities. She continued to deteriorate with hypotension and multiorgan dysfunction and succumbed to her illness today morning”, said Dr RK Bhiman, Director SGPI, Lucknow.
Even President of India, Mr Ram Nath Kovind had made a tweet on this offering condolences to the family of a lost soul.
“The sudden death of Kamal Rani is shocking. She was very active during her stint as Member of Parliament in the 11th and 12th Lok Sabha. I express my deepest condolences to her family in this time of grief“, said Anandiben Patel, Uttar Pradesh Governor.
Yet again COVID-19 has taken up someone’s life. How many more deaths would this nation have to undergo to put a halt on this circus of death and life?
The total number of COVID-19 cases in Uttar Pradesh are 89,068 and as of now, 1,677 people have lost their lives due to it.
