FAKE NEWS: Tweet claims a crash of Rafale jet near Ambala

A tweet was trending on social media claiming that a newly acquired Rafale jet has been crashed near Ambala and a soldier martyred in the incident which has been proven to be absolutely fake. The Indian Air Force clarified that the tweet has not been tweeted by the IAF and is indeed fake.

The tweet claimed that the Rafale has crashed due to technical errors but the Press Information Bureau has dismissed the false claim.

The French-made Rafale Aircraft was given to the IAF on September 10 by the Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and his counterpart Minister Florence Parly. The formal event was also attended by Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat, Air Marshal RKS Bhaduria. The Defence Minister also announced that the fighter jets can also be stationed at LAC in Ladakh.
